Soul Asylum - D.C. Show Date:

"Robert Vaughan"<rvaughan@easterngroup.com

I caught the Soul Asylum show last night at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, and thought you might want to post the set list on your SA web site. The crowd was pretty decent for a Monday night (about 200 or so). The band sounded great and really rocked. Played mostly new stuff with a couple oldies thrown in. It was a very casual atmosphere on the stage (as Dan put it "We're just screwing around, playing new stuff"), with Dave catching flak from Dan about his guitar solo during "Losing It." They played for 90 minutes and the set list (got a copy from the sound guy) is as follows:

*=new song

*See Ya Later

* Still Be Laughing

Black Gold

Closer to the Stars

Lucky One

* Cradle Chain

Without a Trace

*The Game

* No Time

* Blood into Wine

* Draggin' the Lake

* Black Star

* Losing It

Misery

*Creatures of Habit

* Round the Corner

Just Like Anyone

Somebody to Shove

Lies of Hate *

Encores: Candy From a Stranger * (guessing the title to this, as the encores were not on the set list) Back Door Man

I really like some of the new songs they played. The new album should be more of a rocker, with not many "radio-friendly" ballads! As I said, the band sounded GREAT and really rocked. All in all a very good show. Try and see them if they come through your town.

P.S. Great Soul Asylum web site. Very informative and well put together. Keep it up.
