ago. Dan commented, "So was I."

review from Courtney:

The On Air Setlist was as follows:

Until You Came Along (Louris)
The Woman With the Rose Tattoo (Taco Bell Commercial written by Willie Nelson)
It was a private concert only for members of this public radio station.

Dylan Joins Golden Smog
Well, sortof...At the Golden Smog concert in L.A., Jakob Dylan played guitar and sang on a cover, from Neil Young's "Zuma" album, of  "Don't Cry No Tears".
Ivan Neville, who performed at some shows with Soul Asylum during the 97 tour,  sat in on keys for Neil's "Revolution Blues."

Pirner on Ex-Replacements members New CD
Dave Pirner appears on the upcoming Replacements' leader singer Paul Westerberg's 3rd solo release "Suicaine Gratification," released on Capitol on Feb. 23.  Dave appears on "The Fugitive Kind,"  singing backup.  Buy 'limited' one here or normal CD here.
...and from the CagedRat archives :
01-14-98
"Last week, Dave and Dan were in Ocean Way recording studio, doing who knows what. Funny thing is Paul Westerberg was there at the same time doing overdubs for his new album on Capitol. Cool eh?"
you heard it first here, kids!

Pirner appears at Target Center JAN 16
Broadcast locally and archived at www.jesseventura.com, Dave appeared with Jesse Greene and performed "Black Gold."
and a bit about Jesse Ventura's The People's Celebration  and more

PBS's 'River Of Song' , currently running on various PBS stations, feature Soul Asylum in segment one.  In it, Dan and Dave are interviewed and they, with Karl and an unseen drummer are shown rehearsing 'Misery" and "I did my best' (which is on the soundtrack).  Stay tuned for the following segment on 'Babes in Toyland'. Squirmin' Karl Herman can be seen bowling with Lori and Dave is asked to join "Babes in Toyland" to dance onstage to "we are family"...sadly there is no confirmation of that happening or footage!

Barefoot front
Back in 1981, REFLEX records asked bands to submit tracks for a compilation record.  This long out of print record contained the original version of "Black and Blue".
Now recently re-released on CD, an unreleased song, "Propaganda" is finally unleashed, along side other classics, including the Replacements' take on the Motorhead classic, "Ace Of Spades".

To your right is a fuzzy, old shot of Dave and Grant with Bill, circa 1992...What the hell is Bill saying?   Is Clinton the source of the "and he's wearing skates" joke?
Inquiring minds want to know.
